The country’s secondbiggest lender by assets reported a 5.4% year-on-year decline in thirdquarter net profit to 9.06 billion baht. The profit increase was Kasikornbank's fastest since the first quarter of 2017. Top lender Bangkok Bank reported late on Thursday an 8.4% increase in first-quarter net profit to 9 billion baht. Bangkok Bank attributed the profit rise to a 32% jump in non-interest income driven by mutual funds and loan-related services. Siam Commercial Bank, the second-largest bank, reported on Thursday a 4.6% dip in first-quarter net profit, partly due to costs associated with investments in digital banking.
